The new beta technology by Adobe codenamed “Cocomo” is a new platform that lets Flex developers to create real-time social features in Rich Internet Applications (RIA).
Using the Flex components and hosted services, Cocomo helps building real-time multi-users applications with Flex more eaisly and faster than before.
No doubt that this years Adobe MAX conference is special, especially with the big announcement of the Adobe Flash Platform, an integrated set of technologies as Adobe says:

After being a one of the most Silverlight famous customers. MLB Advanced Media said this Monday that it will move to use Flash Platform to deal with the both live and on-demond video services starting from the next year.
The MLB will put more than 1.5 million subscibers since 2003 in the hand of Adobe technology and its history as one of the largest video service company on the web.
During the Keynote in Adobe MAX conference in San Francisco, New York Times Vice Present demonostrated the new news reader application based on AIR 1.5 which just released Monday.
While The predecessor for the news reader was heavy, the new application get advantages of the fast text rending in AIR and includes video capabilities of Flash 10 which is used by AIR 1.5.

Microsoft is powering applications on the desktop, Google is working on the cluod computing. Adobe Systems stategy is to fill the gap between both by filling the missing chain using Flash Player and AIR as the main keys to fill this gap.
Answering the demands, Adobe plans to release an alpha version of Flash Player technology on Monday for 64-bit Linux software users.
