Designing a logo can be a difficult task to handle, especially since a logo holds the identity of an entire brand making it a crucial aspect of a company’s design. The most effective logos are the memorable and unique ones, but as designers how can we create an attention grabbing logo that will stay in the minds of our audiences?

There are plenty of answers to this question, one being to use vibrant colors or a distinctive style of design, but these will often detract from the simple beauty of a logo. One great way to avoid this issue, while still making a memorable and eye catching design, is to produce a logo design that captures attention through the use of an intelligent twist. Whether this means creating a pun out of a company name or utilizing negative space to include a hidden element, there are many ways to create a clever design. These clever designs will often generate impressed reactions from viewers which will make the logo more memorable, thus making them an ideal design choice.

Coming up with witty ideas for a clever logo can be difficult, but with a bit of inspiration and some time spent sketching out ideas, smart designs can be shaped. And so I’ve compiled a collection containing 40 of my favorite clever logo designs to provide you with inspiration for creating witty and alluring logos of your own. The logos below all have one thing in common: they are clever or witty because they combine two concepts into one graphic. For example, it should be obvious from the first example that it combines an apple’s core (health) and barbells (fitness) into one nice-looking logo.
