Before we talk about the Arabic Calligraphy, let us have a quick look about its history. For more than 1,000 years, the Islamic civilization has expanded to cover large areas on Earth from different continents including Asia, Africa and Europe. This great expansion has affected the art and science process developing over the years. Many nations have blended together and generated a lot of talents and creative minds in many fields with the deep understanding to the role of art and science in the success in any civilization. The joint of this civilization was the Arabic language that has been used in different sciences and art fields including the Arabic calligraphy.

This form of art has been widely known as an important art in the Islamic civilization that derived basic role from the Arabic language itself. It has been used as a communication language and decoration motives on the Islamic architecture as you can easily notice on both ancient and contemporary buildings and mosques. The Arabic letter’s shapes and curves have helped in fueling this art with creativity and inspired artists to create new styles and ideas using the free Arabic style or the standard forms of Arabic Calligraphy.

Nowadays, although the Arabic Calligraphy is not as widely used as before, it still has its own magic and glory that returns your mind to the Islamic art style or even to the Islamic myths.
