jQuery slider is based on jQuery library of JavaScript routines that makes it easier to write HTML code on the client side of a web application. It is used by most popular websites, making jQuery the most popular JavaScript library as of 2012.

jQuery is often used to make image slideshows, also known as sliders. These applications allow the user to view a series of still images in succession on a website. Sliders are typically available as a plugin for a browser, and are an effective method of increasing the popularity of a website.

The most useful jQuery image slider plugins include Coin Slider, jQuery Banner Rotator, Supersized, Nivo Slider and Dragdealer.

    Great plugin’s here the majority I have the time to experience and mess about but Coin Slider is a nice one for me! But its definitely taken my interested and I may have a look at using it in my next project, as it seems like a very fluid and easy to customise. Thanks for this list.

    I use the Nivo slider and it’s various skins all the time! Hadn’t heard of some of the others though, must try them out…thanks!

    I always include the Nivo slider for all my client sites that want a slider on them, there’s just no competition.
